The Data & Analytics team is the engine that powers JPMorgan Chase with insights to create competitive advantages for our business and deliver value for our customers. We have unified data and analytics talent across the firm and encompass a variety of disciplines including data science, reporting, quantitative analytics, and data governance. Within this organization, the Product Analytics team leverages industry-leading data-driven techniques to convert data into meaningful insights that enable the firm to drive value and an outstanding customer experience. The Role The wealth management industry is rapidly changing, and JPMorgan Chase is transforming our wealth management businesses to accelerate growth. We are looking for a talented data analyst to help inform our wealth strategies and products across a newly combined JPMorgan Wealth Management (JPMWM) business unit which includes our branch-based advisors, remote advice, JP Morgan Advisors, and Online Investing digital platforms. Reporting to the Executive Director of USWM Customer Analytics, this role will be central in building a suite of insights and recommendations that help the business build long-term relationships by offering advice and solutions to meet our clients’ needs. Key Responsibilities This is a vital hands-on role so we’re looking for exceptionally creative, ambitious, ‘data curious’ thinkers who can help extract true business value from data. A typical day might include: Develop behavioral and transactional dashboards to support product teams on an end-to-end basis Initiate and drive projects to completion in an agile environment Build and deploy rapid prototype solutions to demonstrate ideas and prove concepts Generate deep insights through the analysis of data and understanding of business processes and turn them into actionable recommendations Identify areas for business improvement/optimization using data tools, analytics and targeted visualizations Build strong relationships across Wealth Management and with key stakeholders Qualifications: Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data or Information Science, or related quantitative analytic field with 4+ years of data science experience, develop analytical techniques The position is ideal for an individual that can combine product management and end to end ownership experience, a deep understanding of next generation data and analytics environments and superior problem structuring skills Solid hands-on experience as data analyst and/or data modeler Broad experience with data standards, data policies, metadata management, data governance strategies, data profiling and source to target mapping documentation Extremely proficient with SQL and using SQL to analyze data Experience in wrangling large, complex datasets, strong database skills and ability to write, optimize and tune complex SQL script Working knowledge of relational and distributed databases Advanced knowledge of business processes and data analysis, as well as the ability to construct/deconstruct complex data queries Comfortably navigate matrix organizations engage in meetings with thoughtful questions, disagree without being disagreeable, and can flex your communication style with ‘business’ and ‘technical’ audiences Have a strong presence, solid presentation skills (both written and verbal), and low ego with the ability to deliver recommendations to multiple stakeholders and influence others Bonus points if you: Previously worked in a related analytics domain and understand data domains that are needed by a wealth management organization such as securities data or money movement transactional data Are proficient with Business Intelligence (BI) tools (e.g. Tableau, Shiny Dashboards) Have a baseline understanding of statistical principles including experimental design and analysis of variance, probability theory, and sampling theory Have a strong grasp of big data disciplines, Agile (scrum) methodologies, and new technologies Are a lifelong learner and hold a growth mindset we welcome individuals who geek out on industry podcasts, stay abreast of cutting edge techniques, or participate in KDD and Kaggle competitions for ‘fun’ and love to share what they are learning with the rest of the team
