About Alstom in India

Alstom has established a strong presence in India. Currently, the company is executing metro projects in several Indian cities including Chennai, Kochi and Lucknow where it is supplying Rolling Stock manufactured out its state of the art facility at SriCity in Andhra Pradesh. In the Mainline space, Alstom is executing Signaling & Power Supply Systems for the 343 Km. section on World Bank funded Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. Phase 1 in the construction of the new electric locomotive factory for manufacturing and supply of 800 units of 12000HP locomotives is also complete at Madhepura, Bihar while the depot at Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh is ready to commence operation. Alstom has set up an Engineering Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, and this coupled with a strong manufacturing base as well as localized supply chains, is uniquely positioned to serve customers across the globe.   • Align with Global Commodity Strategy and implement the regional and country strategy for the Engineering service commodity in alignment with the country management requirement
  • Lead QCD relationships with suppliers at country level
  • Perform comprehensive analyses of the suppliers financial stability, technical competency, capacity and capability analysis as required based on the criticality of the service involved on time to time basis
  • Contribute to the technical review and clarification with suppliers and provide innovative solutions to solve high complex supply / supplier problems
  • Review the supplier performance on regular basis along with the various stakeholder in different region and implement the action plans to meet the stakeholder
  • Applying and maximize the usage of E-Sourcing tools (e-RFx, e-Auctions, e-Contract Management, e-Procurement, e-SRM…) available in the organization
  • Act as a bridge between supplier and stakeholder to meet and delivery the business requirement

Commodity Management:

  • Own category expertise: cost model, benchmark, market trends, supplier panel, LCC options,
  • Help in Managing the catalogue definition and implementation (if appropriate): content, accuracy, evolution in relation with the Technical Advisor/Expert-
  • Support actively of Engineering team, for the commodity requirement
  • Apply Alstom Indirect sourcing process
  • Analyze risks and sets appropriate mitigation plan
  • Animate commodity maturity improvement plan

Sourcing Strategy: * Defines supplier panel in-line with Sourcing Strategy and makes sure it is implemented

  • Define and develops commodities strategy with Regional Commodity Manager and drives its implementation
  • Define supplier panel in-line with Sourcing strategy and makes sure it is implemented
  • Lead the selection of suppliers for Commodity
  • Ensure early involvement of suppliers at RFQ Stage

Supplier Relationship Management:

· Manage long term relationships with the supplier for his commodities (in particular for legal aspects)

· Negotiate and animates supplier QCD objectives and performance for the commodities

· Perform regular (min. quarterly) supplier performance review (incl. quality) and solves major issues and secures objectives achievement

· Drive supplier negotiations as appropriate Decisions, frame agreement,

Performance and QCD Improvement * Drives QCD performance improvements for his commodity

  • Negotiates & monitors QCD with suppliers


8-10 + years of experience
Sourcing professional background, Expertise in managing ITES domain /Engineerign Services- Preferred

Worked in Outsourcing service sourcing Projects, multi domain specialist

Strong knowledge of commercial terms and conditions and structuring of Frame and specific agreement model with clear

terms and conditions to the best interest of the company

Demonstrate being proactive, self motivated, willing to go the extra mile

planning, organizing and analyzing data to build recommendations on sourcing strategies to meet both short and long term goal

Highly refined negotiation skills, documented track record of successfully negotiating complex, high value euro contracts for
