About DevOps Engineering Team We enable Amazon pay to go fast by providing real-time feedback on production systems. We work side by side with the product family and platform developers to maintain and improve services and performance. About your role You will be required to deeply understand technology landscapes, and evaluate the use of new technologies. You will be influential within your team and work with peers and senior leaders to define and revise the standards for operational excellence across Amazon pay. You will consistently tackle abstract issues that span multiple functional areas and drive your team to push for improvements that can scale across other teams, services, and platforms. Primary Responsibilities: Provide platform support, including extensive troubleshooting tasks, with responsibilities covering multiple products, features and services Works on tasks to ensure security and availability of the platform and micro-services. Work on operations and maintenance driven coding projects, primarily in Java. Software deployment support in staging and production environments Develop tools to aid operations and maintenance Basic Qualifications : 2+ years of development or technical support experience Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems Experience in Unix Experience scripting in modern program languages Basic Qualifications: 2 -4 years of development or Application support or DevOps experience Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems / Java based applications including good understanding of REST APIs. Basic knowledge / skills in Unix/Linux Basic skills in scripting in any modern program languages Understanding of the complete deployment life cycle from design, build, test, deploy Understanding of XML/SOAP, REST and HTTP protocols Preferred Qualifications : Strong understanding of operations – SLA, handling tickets, monitoring, processes and metrics. Hands on experience in Cloud technology is plus. Hands on experience distributed applications/enterprise applications is plus. BS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent industry experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to solve complex problems independently.
