Job Description
Post: Design Engineer – Specialist (BMH Design)
Qualification: Bachelors/Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience: 15 to 20 years of experience in design of Mining equipment’s especially Troughed Belt Conveyors & High angle conveyors, Miners & High-capacity Crushers/Sizers
Required Skill Set:
The candidates should have hands of experience in the following activities
Experience on Selection criteria of belt conveyors for mining, port and Heavy Engineering applications with capacities around 5000 ~ 8000 TPH
Experience in designing Trippers, Ship loaders, Stock yard stocking & conveying and other bulk handling for process industries like Power, Steel, Cement..Etc.
Experience in layout engineering with coordinates given & reference points with conveyors as per mining site or process layout
Being able to independently design the conveying Sub system like , Drive , Tail section , Take up & Winch, Idler sections , Pulleys and other Conveyor accessories
Selection of materials as per duty conditions & application requirements
Experience in coordinating the requirement with various sub system departments like structural, Civil & Electrical requirements
Experience in defining safety & Design of Safety systems for Mining & Conveying applications
Experience in Structural design & awareness on STAAD analysis support
Experience in Preparing the Operation manuals or guidelines as per design basis
Expertise in making or understanding P&I Diagrams &Electrical circuit diagrams of the layout engineering
Basic hand calculations for selecting idlers, Gear reducers, Motors, Pulleys, Belt, winch Take up & gravity take up and others as per required specifications
Hands on experience on any CAD tool preferable Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD
Preparation of details drawings, Bill of material
Exposure to standards like GD& T and Weld symbols along with
Familiarity with design and manufacturing processes
Strong knowledge of ASME Y 14.5 M standards is added advantage
Installation & Commissioning coordination of conveyors with capacity around 5000 ~ 8000 TPH for material like Coal, Iron ore, Hard Rock etc.
Hands on experience on Belt Analyst would be added advantage.
Being able to lead a team of engineers to execute conveyor design projects.
Good Knowledge on Conveyor Design standard like CEMA and structural standards like ANSI, AS3990 is required
