An excellent career opportunity is currently available for a Lead R&D Engineer / Scientist -Solvent Technologies within Honeywell India Technology Center located in Gurgaon, India. This position offers an excellent technical opportunity to champion the development and commercialization of breakthrough carbon capture technologies to meet the rapidly expanding customer demand for decarbonization solutions with specific emphasis on solvent based solutions. Accountabilities of the Position: .Lead New Product Development (NPD) programs and deliver the programs as per agreed timelines in gas processing technologies (Solvent, PSA/TSA) .Provide technical expertise for separations-based absorption technology (sorbent approach) for carbon capture .Interface with other functions in R&D such as manufacturing, process design and development, material characterization, modelling, etc. to deliver assigned development programs. .Lead and setup pilot plant experimentation for VLE/Kinetics and drive model-based design of experiments (MBDOE) approach to bring the effectiveness and agility. .Lead global / regional sales support projects and implement productivity and cycle time reduction measures for faster project delivery using Z21 and lean six sigma principles. .Provide support to sales and sales support organizations to ensure technology offerings, maximize customer value delivery as well as Honeywell value capture. .Build awareness of competitive threats, keep track of new solvent technologies, and suggest projects to bridge technology gaps .Evaluate and integrate developments in other technology areas for applications in gas processing. .Demonstrate effective communication skills to share project results to global cross-functional program teams. .Deploy open innovation (university / industry collaboration) to take advantage of new ideas, and to leverage skills and capabilities that are not available inhouse. .Identify novel solutions and author invention disclosures to contribute to the innovation effort .Act as a mentor to the less experienced scientist / engineers. Qualified candidate must have: .PhD in Chemical Engineering with 5 years industrial or academic experiences in gas processing, refining, or petrochemical. .B. Tech/B. E in Chemical Engineering with 10 years professional experience in separations (absorption, adsorption) technology fields. .Prior relevant experience in technology development/commercialization or technical services or engineering or research roles. .Strong interest in R&D work. .Strong technical skills for leading experimentation and experimental data analysis skills. .A self-starter and ability to drive innovation. .High level of creativity and ability to think outside the box. Additional Skills .Strong understanding of chemistry/chemical engineering fundamentals and application in solvent based gas processing technologies .Experience in UNISIM and ASPEN process simulation software. .Strong business acumen and entrepreneurial mindset in the application to technology development in a fast-paced environment .Strong interpersonal skills and the capability to work effectively across multiple functional departments. .Demonstrated ability to work independently with a strong focus on delivering results and identifying alternative solutions when challenges arise. .Knowledge of UOP technologies: Refining/Petrochemicals/Gas Processing applications .Excellent oral and written communication skills. .Familiar with Six-Sigma tools and their application .Strong organizational communication and presentation skills. .Demonstrated ability in problem solving. .Strong quantitative and analytical ability.
