Position Summary

Basic Function:

  • Market Intelligence Lead Analyst should have a strong understanding of procurement research and methods to conduct supplier and market research for various categories e.g. IT, Consulting, Office Supplies, CRE, Professional Services etc.
  • Market Intelligence Analyst will be required to work with US and GOSC management to assess current market conditions, develop strategy for conducting market analysis
  • Interact with GOSC Operations and US stakeholders as may be required to formalize market intelligence methods

Job Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Building Supply Market Intelligence, Supplier Profiling & Supplier risk reports
  • Deep specialization in one or more of the above areas
  • Conduct secondary research to build market intelligence reports on various suppliers & categories
  • Analyze information from various public and subscribed sources e.g. SEC, Hoovers, DNBi, Gartner, IBIS World, Forrester & relevant industry associations to come up with insights into the market and create reports in PPT/excel/word formats appropriately
  • Use different frameworks such as Company Profile, Newsletter, Z Score, Porter’s, SWOT, PESTLE etc. to represent market info and help in decision making to the clients
  • Responsible for executing and delivering high quality business research solutions to global clients under minimal guidance
  • Should be able to develop a Market Summary report that would outline the market conditions, players in the market, their strengths and areas of improvement & Market Trends
  • Any other essential function that may occur from time to time as directed by the Supervisor

Primary Internal and External Interactions

  • Manager for the purpose of reporting performance, escalation handling, clarifying concerns and seeking feedback and support.
  • GOSC and Global Sourcing personnel to develop scope of work and target research markets, identify issues and opportunities, etc.
  • GOSC Quality personnel for input into methodology, evaluating industry data for recommendations, etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education

  • MBA, Graduate or Diploma holders with at least 15 years of education

Experience

  • Minimum 5-6 years working experience in Supply market analysis, Supplier profiling & analysis, competitor research within the Global procurement

Knowledge and skills (general and technical)

  • Prior experience in supply market intelligence and supplier profiling shall be a decisive advantage
  • Global experience will be an advantage.
  • Proficient in utilizing secondary research tools e.g. Hoovers, DNBi, Forrester, Gartner, SEC, IBIS World and fair knowledge of related industry association, etc.
  • Knowledge of building supplier profiles & conducting financial analysis
  • Building competitive landscape & cost driver analysis
  • Developing Company Profile, Newsletter, Z Score, Porter’s, SWOT
  • Good working knowledge of MS PowerPoint & Excel.

  • Strong communication skills – Written and Verbal
  • Must work well in a team environment, while being individually responsible for delivery of individual assignments and results.
  • Ability to take a proactive approach, etc.
  • Keep major stakeholders informed as to process timelines and expected results
  • Able to identify and respond to obstacles and/or challenges
