Overview
Location: Multi-Site Oversight | Germantown, WI Area (Primary) & Anaheim, CA Area (Secondary) — Onsite
Schedule: Full-Time | Core Engineering & Lab Operations
The Mission
The mission of the Senior EMI Engineering Manager is to provide comprehensive technical, operational, and organizational leadership for our electromagnetic interference (EMI) testing and engineering operations. Serving as both a primary technical authority and an operational leader, this role bridges the gap between high-level engineering program execution and hands-on laboratory testing.
We are explicitly seeking an operationally driven engineering leader who manages from the front lines—someone who views the testing laboratory as their primary command center. Stepping into this position, you will lead complex testing programs, oversee daily laboratory workflow across sites, mentor an engineering team, and engage directly with key clients. By combining deep technical mastery of military EMI/EMC standards with a business-minded leadership approach, you will drive continuous improvement, optimize cross-site laboratory workflows, and support strategic business growth.
Scope of Impact
Multi-Site Laboratory Operations & Test Execution
- Dual-Site Testing Oversight: Direct and perform hands-on EMI/EMC testing, analysis, and system-level assessments across complex electrical and electronic programs supporting both the WI and CA regional operations.
- Methodology & Documentation: Author and approve tailored test methods, comprehensive EMI test procedures, and formal qualification reports tailored to military requirements.
- Lab Resource Management: Oversee laboratory infrastructure across facilities, including equipment calibration, routine maintenance, testing schedule optimization, and process standardization.
Engineering Leadership & Project Management
- Team Development: Manage, coach, and build technical capabilities across the engineering team, maintaining workflow efficiency and driving project accountability.
- Project Execution: Monitor project execution, schedule adherence, resource allocation, and technical risk mitigation strategies to ensure on-time project delivery.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner seamlessly with cross-functional project teams, safety officers, quality personnel, and executive leadership across both geographic locations.
Business Growth & Client Relations
- Technical Interface: Serve as a primary technical contact for clients, managing expectations, explaining complex engineering results, and delivering status updates.
- Business Development: Support technical proposal development and identify opportunities for capability growth, specifically around high-power systems and automated testing tools.
Profile of Excellence
- Hands-On Lab Leader: A proven engineering leader who believes authentic authority comes from deep technical involvement. You remain comfortable executing hands-on testing, reviewing raw data, and stepping into the lab alongside your team.
- Military Standard Mastery: In-depth technical familiarity with core military EMI/EMC standards, with a explicit focus on MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, and MIL-STD-1399.
- Coaching-Centered Manager: A natural mentor who utilizes a structured, encouraging leadership style to build technical competency and maintain an organized engineering workflow across sites.
- Strategic Partner: An engineering professional capable of balancing tight technical accuracy with customer satisfaction, project budgets, and multi-site operational efficiency.

- Testing Experience: 8+ years of direct EMI/EMC testing, analysis, and test procedure development experience.
- Leadership Experience: 5+ years of formal engineering leadership, project lead, or laboratory management experience.
- Military Standards: Deep, hands-on experience executing and writing reports for MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, and MIL-STD-1399.
- Technical Documentation: Demonstrated experience drafting, reviewing, and delivering formal EMI test procedures and qualification reports.
Preferred Background & Technical Experience
- Advanced Degree: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline.
